Israel eager to help modernize agriculture : Ambassador Mayer

Damak, Dec 16: Israel’s Ambassador to Nepal, Yaron Mayer, on Thursday said the Israeli government was keen on extending support to help farmers in Nepal tap into the latest agro-based technologies.

Speaking at a function held at the Maharanijhoda locality of Gauradaha Municipality, ambassador Mayer noted that 500 Nepali youths were given an annual agro-based training in Israel so as to promote Nepal’s agriculture. He added that employment opportunities could be created in abundance if they could use the skills that they have learned in Israel.

The Israeli envoy also shared his belief that Nepal could earn unbounded profit through modernization of the agricultural sector.

On the occasion, former minister, Agni Kharel, called on the farmers to use modern farming equipment and tools to reap huge profits in their own villages. RSS
